I haven't even finished reading this article The American Century Is Over, but as soon as I read this one paragraph, I knew it needed to be in my journal:
Still, I'm willing to bet that future generations will look back on the period between 2006 and 2008 as the real turning point. Here was the moment when what remained of the American Century ran out of steam and ground to a halt. More specifically, when Bush gave up on victory in Iraq (thereby abandoning expectations of U.S. military power transforming the Greater Middle East) and when the Great Recession brought the U.S. economy to its knees (the consequences of habitual profligacy coming home to roost), Luce's formulation lost any resemblance to reality.
When I'm reading article's about President Obama and his glorious efforts to Save America and Save Americans it doesn't surprise me when I see photos like this:

The words that come to my mind are "Jerk off" - I don't know why
Imagery is such a powerful thing, the above picture is Obama clearly "working hard" and being all Presidential. It's all a bunch of bullshit.
I was talking with my girlfriend yesterday about Bradley Manning. I said, "the only chance Manning has to be free is if Ron Paul is elected president." Even that is a long shot.
